“After playing Agent Maria Hill in the blockbuster “Avengers” movies, Cobie Smulders is poised to add another action franchise to her resume, as she’s in early talks to play the female lead opposite Tom Cruise in ‘Jack Reacher 2, ‘ multiple individuals familiar with the project have told The Wrap”.
Tom Cruise’s run with his past movies has been quite the roller coaster ride, but an upcoming sequel to one of his past films that didn’t do so well might just change that.
Smulders starred on the long-running sitcom “How I Met Your Mother” before joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as S.H.I.E.L.D.
The plot of “Jack Reacher 2” is said to be based on Lee Child’s book “Never Go Back“. The actress also reprised her role in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier“.
In the first film, Reacher, a former Military Police Investigator thing, investigated a sniper shooting that resulted in the death of five people. Zwick previously worked with Cruise in “The Last Samurai“.
Meanwhile, Tom Cruise’s next installment from Michigan series has also been confirmed!
Gilligan’s Island: It’s a mystery why a big-screen version of the shipwrecked castaways sitcom hasn’t already materialised, although there were three TV movie spin-offs, including the unforgettable The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan’s Island, with Mission: Impossible stars Martin Landau and Barbara Bain as the villains. Fresh off of Christopher McQuarrie’s relatively successful Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, the Hollywood legend is headed back to a similar genre piece in Jack Reacher, with The Hollywood Reporter noting that Cruise will begin filming on the sequel this November as expected.
