Google Maps is Getting Lists to Help Keep Places Organized
Android: The latest beta of Google Maps has a handy new feature that we’ve been wanting for a long time.

In order to get you started, Google has included three lists from the get-go: Favorites, Want to go and Starred places.
To have a look at your saved lists you can go to the Nav drawer Your Places and then select the “Saved” tab. Google Maps supports now voice commands, so you’ll just tap on the microphone and say “avoid tolls” to set and save this option, and do the same for highways and ferries, to make the selections faster.
The new Google Maps update also adds a new “Traffic Nearby” option to alert users with a real-time notification of traffic conditions in the area, and also the changing conditions on the road along with expected delays due to ensuing traffic jams.
You will be rewarded for writing exhaustive reviews about the palces you visit, besides earning the ability to create custom lists after reaching level 4 in the community ranks. Only level 4 Local Guides will be able to make these lists such as “Best burgers in Manhattan”, ” July 2017 trip to Mexico City”, or ” Places to take mom or dad when they visit”. To later access those, users can go into the menu, find the “Your places” section, and see all of the lists they’ve created.
Members of Google’s Local Guides program were recently invited to test out the new feature.

Becoming a Google Maps beta user is a similarly easy process, though alpha users should see these updates in the near future regardless.
