Osweiler leads 5 scoring drives, Broncos beat Seahawks 22

“Man, I’ll play tomorrow if they let me”, Williams said after returning to practice last week. But the wins and losses aren’t yet what’s important – that comes later, in the regular season. Among the newest members of the Broncos will be Mitch Tanney, a Monmouth College graduate who was hired to be the team’s director of football analytics during the offseason.

Lockett is expected to play a big role returning kicks, and indeed, his first run of the game was a winding marvel up the middle of the field. Just to start the game off like that…

The kid can flat out play. On first down, he teamed with T.Y. McGill for a sack. Although he missed on a few deep balls, which has been his M.O., he played exceptionally well under pressure and was accurate when it really counted. We’re all stocked up with the Deflategate silliness.

Oh, and he caused a fumble on his first snap as a Seahawk. “You go out there to play mistake-free and play without the fear of making mistakes”. One big difference between Rodgers in his third season and Osweiler in his third season is that the Packers knew what they had.

“I was able to maintain that weight – get heavier, get faster, get stronger”, he said. He was in the backfield all night, he was all over the Denver running backs and he looked good in the process.

Also of note in relation to the running game, keep an eye on two offensive line battles. All throughout camp Osweiler has been dominating the Bronco’s defense now we can see if those skills translate when he is competing against another team.

Can Dion Bailey secure a roster spot? Manning never got into a groove – a quadriceps injury late in the season didn’t help – and the Broncos were one and done in the playoffs, losing to the Colts in the divisional round. However, there were plenty of takeaways to be taken.

LINE OF CONCERN: Both the Seahawks and Broncos have issues on the offensive line that’ll begin to shake out on Friday. The second unit didn’t look good. It won’t shock you to hear that they expect to play more aggressively, which is what every defensive coordinator has always said upon arrival in his newest city. And while Seattle is still projected to flaunt its stars on both sides of the ball for at least one series, ticket prices for the Week 1 preseason match are the most expensive the secondary market has recorded since 2013.

“My confidence level is just believing in myself”. Unfortunately, the Seahawks walk away from tonight’s game with a pair of costly ones.

Super Bowl hero Chris Matthews sprained the AC joint in his left shoulder in the second quarter and could be out a while. Right guard J.R. Sweezy got pushed back and left tackle Russell Okung seemed turned around on the second sack. Hopefully we’ll learn more about each injury in the coming days. Chancellor has been in constant contact with those players who are at camp, offering advice to younger guys like half-brother Keenan Lambert, but he still appears set in his decision to hold out. “I’m not surprised with Shaq: a natural pass rusher”, Miller said. Kubiak emphasized, “It’s good to see it’s carrying over for him”.

Coach Pete Carroll said he didn’t know if Jackson had suffered a high ankle sprain but that the initial thought is that Jackson may be out only two weeks or so. “He did a great job tonight”.

– Tyler Lockett, man. He gets everyone excited. That included center Lemuel Jeanpierre, the backup to traded Max Unger the previous five years.
