After completing his season-long loan move to Bournemouth, Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere wants to improve on the south coast.

Wilshere was once regarded as one of the most promising youngsters in the Premier League, but Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has allowed the 24-year-old to leave the Emirates Stadium in a bid to revitalise his career.

But Howe also convinced Wilshere that his footballing style would suit him and his best pal, former Arsenal youth team mate Benik Afobe, is already at Bournemouth.

“I’m delighted to have joined Bournemouth on a season long loan and would like to thank everyone at the club for making me feel so welcome”, Wilshere said, in a statement on Twitter.

Wilshere has been hampered by a series of injuries and unsavoury off-field incidents in recent seasons and was left out of Sam Allardyce’s first England squad this week. “I am looking forward to working hard every day with the coaching staff and my new team mates to help the club achieve success on the pitch”. Thanks for all your support.’ .

Wilshere interested the likes of Roma and AC Milan as well, and while the Englishman was open to a loan switch to Rome, Arsenal reportedly vetoed the deal, after failing to agree on compensation and how his wages would be paid.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe believes the capture of Wilshere is something of a coup for the Cherries, who had competition from the likes of Crystal Palace as well as European sides including Roma and Sporting Lisbon.

The feeling is that the move is good for both parties, with Wilshere having fallen down the pecking order in Arsenal’s midfield options.
