In a Facebook posting today, the girlfriend of Gov. Andrew Cuomo wrote that she’s home and resting. The spokeswoman said the infection was related to Lee’s double mastectomy in May after early signs of breast cancer were detected. “Sandra will have portable IVs and 24-hour nursing care to start – and her sister Kimmy is flying in from Seattle today to help with Sandra’s recovery”, the post continued.

She got into a waiting SUV, and Cuomo told reporters, “The hospital was great”.
Earlier this week, Lee posted a photograph on Facebook of her and Cuomo together, along with a note stating that they both decided that surgery is the best option to address the infection, calling her current predicament as an “incredible monster”.
The “Semi-Homemade Cooking” star says tennis is her favorite sport and “it’s time for a mean backhand”.
“We are happy to let you know that Sandra Lee is out of surgery”. She was diagnosed with it on March 27.
Reports say that Ms. Lee’s staff has reported in a number of postings on Facebook that the operation took over two hours. “If I would have waited, I probably wouldn’t even be sitting here”, she said.
“If it saves one person, and makes one more person go get a mammogram, and if they’re sitting down right now watching this, don’t watch this TV”, she said during the interview.

The cookbook author has other medical conditions that make her battle with breast cancer harder than it would be for a woman who does not struggle with similar disorders. She and Cuomo share a home in Westchester County.
