HANNIBAL BURRESS Confirms SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Role

Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark is set to be joined by Happy Hogan in next year’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, with Variety reporting that Jon Favreau is reprising his role from the Iron Man trilogy for the upcoming Marvel and Sony reboot.

The photo could easily be from a scene in Spider-Man: Homecoming as the caption does imply he was doing some stunt work.

Marvel and Sony had no comment on the news.

The rest of the cast includes Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Laura Harring, Angourie Rice, J.J. Totah, Michael Barbieri, Ethan Dizon and Abraham Attah as Peter’s various friends and classmates, while the adult co-stars include Donald Glover, Hannibal Burress, Martin Starr, Tunde Adebimpe, Kenneth Choi and Logan Marshall-Green, among others. It’s unknown how large of a role Favreau will play in the film but it’s exciting that producer Kevin Feige is clearly cementing the story in the MCU. Vacation directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein penned the script.

Favreau is also a heavy hitter behind the camera and has more than one tie to the Iron Man franchise, having directed the first two installments.

Favreau most recently directed The Jungle Book for Disney, which has grossed almost $1 billion worldwide. Here’s hoping some official character details are revealed sooner rather that later though as fans have been going nuts trying to figure out where all of the movie’s different actors (see below) fit into things. Favreau is represented by CAA.
