The U.S. women’s water polo team locked up a spot in its gold-medal match by beating Hungary, 14-10.

Nowhere, however, has the USA women or any nation been as dominant as the Americans in the 100 hurdles. The Trials final marked the first time that seven women all ran sub-12.75 times in the same 100 meters hurdles race.

Castlin was appreciative of the entire field.

Ali admitted she had not expected to return to top flight competition so soon after giving birth to her son 15 months ago. “It’s unfortunate all the ladies couldn’t go”. Lochte’s father told The Associated Press that his son had returned to the US before the order was issued, but teammates Jack Conger and Gunnar Bentz were pulled off of their plane as they were getting set to leave.

“This race was definitely just as or more competitive as the Olympic final”, Castlin continued. Bolt leaned in to finish in 19.78 to win by a scant.02 seconds.

A delighted Rollins echoed that sentiment.

“In 2012 I actually had the fastest time going into the US trials but strained my hamstring”.

But both runners said they preferred not to run so fast for a semifinal.

Ali was in the top 3 the whole race thanks to a great start, and then surged over the final 3 barriers to edge Castlin for the silver medal.

Lochte, who is already back in the United States, has said the four were robbed at gunpoint in a taxi by men with a police badge as they returned to the athletes village from a party after the final Rio Olympic swimming events.

“It’s like a sisterhood, Kristi and I train together and tonight we prayed together to give us the confidence we need to get us through these rounds and come out here and fulfil our dreams”.

Their friendly rivalry has a history.

In earlier competition, Daniyar Yeleussinov defeated Uzbekistan’s Shakhram Giyasov and became the fourth straight boxer from Kazakhstan to win the Olympic welterweight gold medal.

Rollins, the 2013 world champion, produced a silky smooth display over the barriers to win in 12.48sec ahead of compatriot Ali, who took silver in 12.59.

“I’ve overcome so much, so this is really for everyone who had a hard time, who had to bounce back”, Castlin said on NBC.
