Kaepernick Wears Anti-Police Socks To Practice
In a statement posted to his Instagram page, Kaepernick said he has relatives and friends who are police officers and that he had worn the socks in the past to call attention to ‘rogue cops’.

The 49ers quarterback has apparently donning socks decorated in pigs with police hats at practice since at least August 10, according to CBS Sports. These pictures were actually taken before his decision to sit during the National Anthem, but they still served as a means for him to bring awareness to his cause. The quarterback who made headlines last month for refusing to stand during the national anthem is back in the news today for wearing some controversial socks.
The logical leap here was that Kaepernick wore them in order to make a statement against the police.
The San Francisco 49ers will play their final preseason game Thursday night in San Diego against the Chargers at 10 p.m. ET.
Each of the seven execs said he believes Kaepernick will never play in the National Football League again if and when the 49ers cut the 28-year-old.
Among the festivities at Qualcomm Stadium will be a performance by the Marine Band San Diego and a group of retired Navy SEALs parachuting into the stadium, followed by a national anthem performance by Petty Officer 1st Class Steven Powell and a presentation of a giant, field-sized American flag.
“I don’t think we’d have a player like him, frankly, I think he’d be booed out or the owners would be forced to not accept someone like him”, he said.
“At halftime the Chargers will recognize six Vietnam War veterans as a remembrance of the 50th anniversary of the war and will also have wounded warriors as special guests and a patriotic fireworks show to wrap up halftime”. Some members of the military are using the hashtag #VeteransForKaepernick on social media to show their support for the quarterback’s right to protest.
