Is This The End of the Nexus Branded Smartphone from Google?
Looking at the recent development, as well as the early release of the latest Android 7.0 Nougat, PC Advisor estimates that the new Google devices, now codenamed HTC Nexus Marlin and HTC Nexus Sailfish, will hit the market at the same time that the Apple is releasing iPhone 7. This definitely appears to be a major shift in direction for Google, which for the past couple of years has been trying to market the Nexus name with the concept of exclusivity for hardware while Google takes care of the software part by retaining the company name. We do know the two “Big G” devices will come in 5-inch and 5.5-inch screen sizes, which are smaller than the current 5X and 6P.

It has been suggested that the new phones will both be built by HTC. Right now there are no clues as to what brand name Google will use in place of its old Nexus.
Sources indicate that Google will not be going with the Nexus Phone branding this time and instead the company plans to go with a better form of branding.
According to Android Central, the American multinational tech company Google has just abruptly chose to drop its Nexus brand, indicating that its new phones will no longer use the old title which the company has branded its flagship devices with for the past six years. At the time when we heard news about the android latest version there were rumors about the new google Nexus as well.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai said as much back in June, when he mentioned the company would be more “opinionated” about Nexus design.

The wait is now for an official word from the company.
