First ‘Mascots’ Trailer: Competing for the Golden Fluffy Is No Joke
Netflix has released a new trailer and poster for its upcoming comedy film Mascots.

Some might say that sports mascots are already a parody of themselves, but no one can take the ridiculous and make it even funnier than Christopher Guest. So basically, Best in Show but with human furries.
What do you think of the trailer for Mascots?
“Mascots” stars Guest-film regulars Parker Posey, Jennifer Coolidge, Fred Willard, John Michael Higgins and more. It also features Christopher Moynihan, Don Lake, Brad Williams, Zach Woods, Matt Griesser, Susan Yeagley, Sarah Baker, Tom Bennett, Kerry Godliman, Bob Balaban, Michael Hitchcock, Maria Blasucci and Jim Piddock.
If you are familiar with the previous installments of Christopher Guest’s work, then you will recognize most of the cast. After premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival later this month, it will open in select theaters and stream on Netflix Oct. 13.
The film is centered around an annual mascot competition, where participants duke it out for the prestigious “Golden Fluffy Awards”.

Chris O’Dowd, who recently collaborated with Guest on HBO’s Family Tree, plays the bad boy of the mascot-ing world, “The Fist”, a disembodied clenched hand who gets up close and personal with hockey spectators.
