London’s Muslim mayor hit with antisemitic messages for not backing Corbyn
Wirral Labour members with more than 1,000 years combined membership in the party have written an open letter urging people to support leadership challenger Owen Smith.

He asked Virgin: “Why oversell a train to this degree?”
He initially insisted the train was overcrowded, and then said that he couldn’t find two unoccupied seats next to one another for him and for his wife.
But Sky News reporter Darren McCaffrey wanted to quiz Corbyn over his dispute with Virgin Trains.
The survey showed 39% thought there no seats available, while 34% thought there were, after the Labour leader had recorded a video of himself sat on the floor of the carriage last week, saying the service from London to Newcastle was “ram-packed”.
Britain’s watchdog on data protection, the Information Commissioner’s Office, said Wednesday it is “making inquiries into the publication of CCTV images of Corbyn on the train”.
“After he’d already offered me an upgrade to first class, which I’d declined, h e then very kindly did find some seats, and after 42 minutes I went back through the train to the seats he’d allocated”.
“I don’t think so”, he said.
But Ian McNichol has now publicly hit out at Mr Corbyn, arguing that the ultimate decision lay with the party’s elected ruling national executive committee.
A spokesperson said: “Mr Corbyn was elected previous year with a huge mandate from Labour Party members – the largest mandate of any leader in the history of British politics”.
But Virgin Trains released CCTV images which appear to show Mr Corbyn and his team walking past empty unreserved and reserved seats at 11.07am.
“And he said the reason they condemned him was because he was electable”.
“Where there’s a suggestion that this hasn’t happened, the ICO has the power to investigate and can take enforcement action if necessary”.
Meanwhile, Corbyn’s leadership campaign manager Sam Tarry earlier told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme he believed that Richard Branson had initiated the row in order to protect his company.
He added: “I’m not even sure Jeremy did vote remain”.
A LABOUR government would reverse the Tory cuts to arts funding by increasing tax on the top 0.3 per cent of earners, Jeremy Corbyn will announce today. “I was talking about me”.
Sam Tarry said the “spat” with Sir Richard was rooted in the billionaire being “upset” about Mr Corbyn’s plans to renationalise the railways.

Next time, they cheekily suggested, Mr Corbyn might like to reserve his seat in advance.
