Ever since signing with the UFC at the close of 2014, CM Punk has heard nearly the entire roster of fighters voice their opinions on his decision to debut in the Octagon with no formal fight experience under his belt.
Heading into his MMA debut at UFC 203 on September 10 in Cleveland, former WWE Superstar CM Punk feels justified in his decision to leave the world of pro wrestling for something new. But that’s not to say this is a one-off. I’m not doing this to try and be a star, I’m doing this because I want to do it and I was afforded an opportunity – I would’ve been a fool to say no. I think the allure is just the fact that it’s happening, you know what I mean? Prelims air on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Gall was also aware that some would find it unfair that he and a yet-to-fight-anyone CM Punk are a co-main event.
And, after joining the big league, Gall has no intention of moving backward. Punk said that he’ll never be happy because he’s always striving to be better than he is, which is why he loves MMA so much.
“Yeah, I’m curious as to how he’s going to do of course”, shared Overeem during his appearance at the MMA Hour. “I’m in the UFC now and I’m here to stay, I want to fight the best in the world, it’s where I belong, I want war with the best guys in the world”.
“I’m not particularly impressed”, Gall said on a media conference call Thursday.
Now, after being thrown to the wolves in practice, he wants to prove a point on fight night as well. Punk will do well to get a record like that. “And I win when I get to eat a pizza afterwards”. I know what I’m good, I know what I’m gonna be good at. “It’s about proving something inside the octagon”. “I know what my expectations are”, he told MMA Junkie. But warned that those who are expecting the same fighter depicted on “The Evolution of Punk” documentary might be in for a surprise.

One thing is for sure, you can expect to see a completely different CM Punk. “Three back surgeries walking around with a herniated disc, 15 percent power in my left leg”. I’ve had fights where i’ve had over 100 friends and family at a fight.
