Colin Kaepernick Wore Socks Depicting Police as Pigs
How was Colin Kaepernick treated in his first game appearance since his national anthem protest went public? Kaepernick has decided not to stand to protest American racial injustice and minority oppression.

Kaepernick’s anthem protest became huge news in the National Football League world last Saturday, after some in the media caught on that he was sitting out. Kaepernick hopes to be the 49ers’ starter, but he is likely also in competition for a roster spot after a disappointing 2015 season during which he lost his starting job and had extensive injury problems.
According to USA Today, Kaepernick wore the socks as early as August 10.
Kaepernick is one of a number of professional athletes, including professional basketball players Dwyane Wade and LeBron James, who have used their celebrity to make a statement about contested social issues.
