Donald Trump Promises ‘No Amnesty’ to Immigrants

Most of the speech – which included such points as: Hillary Clinton would bring “total chaos and lawlessness”, refugees are a “trojan horse”, the USA will build an “impenetrable, physical, tall, powerful, beautiful, southern wall”, illegal immigrants are murdering people left and right – he chose “wrong”.

The meeting between Donald Trump and Mexico’s President Enrique Pena Nieto was polite on Wednesday. However, a few hours later Peña Nieto tweeted that he told Trump at the beginning of the meeting that Mexico would not pay for the wall.

“If you’re a criminal, you’ll be deported”, President Obama said in his November 2014 speech on immigration reform, adding, “If you plan to enter the USA illegally, your chances of getting caught and sent back just went up”.

After spending more than a year campaigning as the candidate of immigration, you’d think Trump would at least poll well on this issue.

Kaine said Thursday morning that Trump “choked” by failing to bring up the issue of who pays for the wall.

“We also discussed the great contributions of Mexican-American citizens to our two countries, my love for the people of Mexico, and the leadership and friendship between Mexico and the United States”, he said.

At a joint press conference, Trump said the two talked about his plans for a wall on the United States’ southern border but the topic of who pays for it did not come up. “That is what it means to have laws”, he said. “And if we did, I still wouldn’t have a problem with that”.

The US Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Immigration Statistics from 2012 estimate there are up to 11 million people living illegally in the US. Her campaign called Trump’s performance part of his “campaign of hate”.

Trump is trailing Clinton in surveys and several of Trump’s major Latino supporters said they are considering dropping their backing following his speech, Politico reported. “One hundred percent. They don’t know it, but they’re going to pay for it”.

While in Mexico, Trump spoke of Mexican-Americans in terms that were polite, rather than calling them drug dealers and rapists.

Verdict: Mister Trump likes Mexicans a lot.

“This is an insult and a betrayal”, said artist Arturo Meade as he joined aprotest against Wednesday’s meeting in Mexico City.

In Wednesday’s email – which was addressed to members of Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee – Pena said he “believe (d) Mr. Trump lost the election tonight”.

Trump is going for all-out, hard-core anti-immigrant hate, so much so that halfway through his speech comparisons to Hitler an Neo-Naziism were flying on social media.
