Authorities lifted a curfew in most parts of the territory on Monday, but schools, shops and most banks remain shut and mobile internet services are still suspended.

However, after the killing of a youth in Baramulla on Wednesday, the curfew was reimposed in some areas.
About 20 people were injured in clashes that erupted in Mazhama and Kanihama villages of central Kashmir’s Budgam district. He said one man was killed and five others were wounded, three of them critically.
A teenager was shot dead in Indian-occupied Kashmir on Wednesday as thousands of protesters engaged in fresh clashes with security forces after weeks of deadly violence, police and witnesses said. Witnesses said the locals resisted the security forces’ raid at the venue of the rally leading to a clash, during which the latter lobbed teargas and fired pellet guns injuring over a dozen people.
A youth Danish Sultan Haroon is feared dead due to drowning in Parimpora area of Srinagar. It added, “Three stone pelting incidents were reported from Srinagar and Kupwara, and one each from Anantnag, Shopian, Ganderbal, Budgam and Sopore”. Police confirmed the incident but said the teenager is “missing” after he jumped into the river.
Over 45 persons were injured in clashes with the security forces in Kaimoh and Aishmuqam areas of south Kashmir districts of Kulgam and Anantnag respectively. Led by former minister and NC general secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, the protesters were carrying placards demanding an end to use of force against “innocent civilians”.
Residents of Srinagar’s Batamalloo area alleged that the security forces forcibly entered their homes, ransacked them and also thrashed inmates.
“Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has made a decision to take a lenient view on this because of the forthcoming Eid-ul-Azha festival”, a senior officer of the state government said. He and other NC leaders said their party stands in complete solidarity with the people and continues to seek a just and fair resolution of the political issue.

Life continued to remain at a standstill across the Valley where a shutdown is being observed in response to the “protest calendar” and extended from time to time.
