Governor Cuomo signs powered alcohol ban
“Governor Cuomo did the right thing, but we really need a national ban, because this stuff can be made in different states, and brought across state lines”, says Senator Charles Schumer, New York (D).

Gov. Andrew Cuomo has signed the new law, which takes effect in 30 days to prohibit sales of the freeze-dried alcohol, which is mixed with water to create beverages. It is readily portable and easy to hide in its powdered form, which increases the ability for underage youths to gain access to it. “So with that risk, there is absolutely no need whatsoever to introduce another form of alcohol that could only make it easier for minors to abuse”. Creator Mark Phillips argues that powdered alcohol is actually safer than liquid alcohol.
Because there are no illegal non-liquid substances in the “wrong hands” in the State of New York.
Still, The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau approved the product for sale back in March.
The legislation signed Friday includes penalties for minors caught possessing powdered alcohol.
Yet, for now it is the latter that features high in U.S. statistics.

WKBW-TV also said Sen. New York Assemblyman Steven Cymbrowitz said in a statement Friday.
“Powdered alcohol is a product with no legitimate reason for being”.

The state of New York has become the 21 US state to ban powdered alcohol, out of fear of increasing alcohol intoxication rates. Due to the small bags in which the alcoholic substance is stored in, kids and teenagers can just fit them in their pockets on their way to a party and their parents would never know.
