On Wednesday, the streaming site Netflix released a teaser trailer announcing it has given the green light for the surprising summer hit.

After Netflix finally confirmed that it has renewed Stranger Things this afternoon (August 31), the show’s creators have revealed a few teasers for season two. There was debate about jumping around in time, but instead the second season will take place a year after the first. Matt and Ross Duffer – the Duffer brothers – will return as writers for Season 2, as well as executive produce alongside Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen. But for us, there’s still more story here [in the 1980s], there’s still things that are unresolved. We don’t know about Eleven.

That means we can expect to see the return of Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Joyce (Winona Ryder), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and others. “We want it to feel a little bit different, a little bit darker”.

“Stranger Things” season 2 is set for a 2017 premiere date, and it will have nine episodes to boot (the first season only had eight).

The Duffers said in a recent interview with IGN that a “hypothetical Season 2” would likely feature justice, but no return, for Shannon Purser’s dead character Barb.

Haven’t seen the Season 1 yet? As much as we love Netflix series, they’ve been kind of hit-and-miss with their second seasons.

“We kinda just peeled back the curtain and revealed a tiny bit of the Upside Down”, said Matt Duffer while speaking to EW. “It’s open-ended in a way that if people wanted it, and Netflix wanted it, we could explore it and continue the story line”.
