Britney Spears Is Marie Claire UK’s October Cover Star

It’s Britney, bitch-but she never went anywhere. “Baby One More Time”. She was, as she sings in “Piece of Me”, “Miss American dream when [she] was 17” – and even before her first album came out, she’d been on the Mickey Mouse Club show as a little girl (along with Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera).

“I moved to Los Angeles when I was very young”, she said, “I was so under scrutiny”.

While that relationship may have ended, Spears is happy with two other men in her life: her two sons, Sean, 10, and Jayden James, 9, from her previous marriage to dancer Kevin Federline: “My boys don’t care if everything isn’t flawless, they don’t judge me”. The “Make Me” singer also struggles with anxiety, and describes panicking if even a hair was out of place.

One would think Britney would have no problem dating with all her fame and accolades, but she’s just like all of us… she’s had bad dates.

Before giving a special Today Show performance of her hit singles “Make Me” and “Do You Wanna Come Over”, Spears took host Natalie Morales to Planet Hollywood’s Flowrider, to show Morales how she and her sons let off a little steam during the week. “That has been a really big thing for me over these last few years”, she said.

Presenting unreleased and unproven forthcoming material to a group of skeptical suits must be a terrifying thing, but as you can see, Britney was a pro from the get-go. It just didn’t work [.] He just wasn’t that into me.

When she isn’t dating, Spears, 34, is raising her two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline – Sean Preston, 10, and Jayden James, 9. He knew that. But he definitely didn’t feel the same. “Being famous doesn’t make you any different”, the “Toxic” hitmaker added. I’m their mom, whatever.
