Real Madrid have offered Manchester United €25million (£17.5million) with a further €5million (£3.5million) in variables in their latest bid for goalkeeper David De Gea.

“I’d really like De Gea to stay”, said Schmeichel, who won the Premier League five times during his eight-year spell at Old Trafford.
“It’s sad that it’s dragged into the season“.
De Gea’s future remains up in the air after he was left out of Manchester United’s opener against Tottenham, with Van Gaal claiming the Spaniard was not in the right frame of mind to play. “If he is still here on 1 September we will look again, but he can not play before that because as a goalkeeper you need the highest concentration, and it is hard when you are in a position like David”, Van Gaal said.
The Dutchman started his skipper Wayne Rooney as a frontman in their 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on 8 August. He says de Gea is so distracted by a move to Real Madrid that the best is for him to sit.
But whilst all those around him, including fellow goalkeeper David De Gea, were wearing official issue suits and ties – Valdes wasn’t.
De Gea, who is a target for Real Madrid, will be allowed to leave should Sergio Ramos come the other way but there seems little prospect of this happening at the moment. “A specialist has said we have a new medical treatment and we have to keep him out for three weeks and we have to watch him”.

Van Gaal believes Depay can adapt to the role and suggested he may not be totally to the blame for his disappointing debut performance. Maybe that was my fault, I might have laid too much pressure on the players because I wanted to win after the bad start we made a year ago. “In recent years Manchester United have paid a lot of money on players and not received a lot for our players”.
