Netflix announces season 2 of ‘Stranger Things’: Here’s what to expect
Today, it’s official: Stranger Things is getting a second season in 2017! “And with so many really falling in love with season one, and people who hadn’t really seen episodes of season one just yet, let’s focus on season one right now”, Sarandos said. So far, nine episodes have been confirmed for Season 2. The new episodes will launch at a date in 2017 which is still to be confirmed.

It’s also known that show creators the Duffer Brothers will continue on as writers for season 2.
Nearly immediately following the announcement, Entertainment Weekly published an interview with creators the Duffer Brothers to get to scoop on Season 2. However, they did say that there will be a total of four new characters in season 2. Though with the assistance of this massive Stranger Things Reddit thread, we discovered some interesting clues.
“For us, there’s still more story here [in the 1980s], there’s still things that are unresolved”, Ross Duffer said, which means that everyone’s favorite kids will be back – or at least a lot of them.
Matt and Ross Duffer, who wrote and directed the series, told Entertainment Weekly that while “movie sequels get a lot of sh**”, they are aspiring to do “something different”. That’s something we batted around from the very beginning. “But for us, there’s still more story here [in the 1980s], there’s still things that are unresolved”.
But have no fear: the Season Two trailer is here!
