A 62-year-old man was arrested for allegedly filling a lubricant dispenser with hydrochloric acid Saturday at a sex club in Australia.

Police have arrested a 62-year-old man in relation to the crime.

Police say an alarm sounded when a man tried to replace lubricant with acid at a Sydney sex club.

The club had set up security alarms on the dispensers after previous attempts to tamper with the machines. Police is investigating the incident and one of the police spokesmen said “no indication of hate motivation to date”.

Hydrochloric acid is highly corrosive and would leave burns, ulcers and scars. Hydrochloric acid can cause a variety of damage upon contact, according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

An anonymous club attendee said he had no idea what might motivate someone to do such a “sick” thing.

The suspect has been granted bail and is slated to appear in court next month. No motive was ascertained other than an intercepted phone call in which another man, Wassim Fayad, told Al-Adhmadzai to “get that freak sorted out”.
