Suspects in SoCal murder, kidnapping, found in Colorado

The three young children of a woman found dead in the Gorman area were located safe in New Mexico on Wednesday, but the victim’s half sister and her friend, who are both suspected of kidnapping the youngsters, remained at large.

Humphrey and Robertson, who authorities had said should be considered armed and unsafe, were found by Pueblo police officers conducting an unrelated fugitive roundup at a local motel where the couple was staying, the sheriff’s department said.

Sheriff’s officials told Eyewitness News that in addition to Harvill’s three kidnapped children, the two suspects may also be traveling with Robertson’s infant daughter, who is not related to the three kidnapping victims. The toddler was taken into state care after authorities determined that Robertson was taking care of her.

LOS ANGELES – A couple wanted in connection with a woman’s killing and the kidnapping of her three small children from Southern California should be considered armed and risky, authorities said Wednesday.

Joshua Aaron Robertson, 27, and Brittany Humphrey, 22, were arrested Thursday without incident in Pueblo, about 40 miles south of Colorado Springs, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

A fugitive couple being sought in the kidnapping of three children whose mother was found dead off a remote Gorman-area road were arrested in Colorado Thursday, authorities said.

Their mother, who didn’t have identification on her body, was identified four days after her death as Kimberly Harvill. The children are: Joslynn Watkins, Brayden Watkins, and Rylee Watkins. Their father died previously. Humphrey and Robertson, who has a criminal record and is on parole, are girlfriend and boyfriend, Mendoza said.

“The officers said that they were doing a patrol check at a local motel, that’s when they came in contact with Brittany”.

Investigators know of no ongoing conflict between the sisters, Mendoza said. A warrant has been issued for their arrest under Los Angeles County DA Case #BA449493.
