5 flagship smartphones likely to launch this week

IFA, Europe’s largest technology show, officially starts on September 2 and runs until September 7, but major technology companies will be holding press conferences from Wednesday in the lead-up to the event.

IFA 2016 kicks off in Berlin this weekend, and the buzz is that a bevy of high-spec, mid-range smartphones will be on display, as well as new wearables.

While we are not sure of Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, one thing is confirmed at Samsung’s pre-IFA event today – yes, Gear S3.

Samsung Electronics plans to use the USA corporate brand Dacor, which was acquired by the South Korean firm last month, for its new lineup of luxury home appliances, a company executive said on September 2. Rumors point to a possible Galaxy Tab S3, the successor to last year’s Galaxy Tab S2. Users will also be hoping for a thinner design and a faster processor. The first IFA conference took place in the year 1924 and it later became an annual event in the year 1939.

A recent tweet from ASUSTek Computer Inc. suggests we could see some exciting products from them on August 31. The iPhone 7 and Apple Watch 2 could both be unveiled.

If rumors are true, the LG Flex 3 will come with a 5.5 inch screen with a 1440 x 2560 display.

The ZenWatch 3 will also be made of stainless steel and it will include support for Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity. This year, IFA will be the stage for Lenovo’s big ticket announcements. ZTE will likely unveil its crowdsourced handset called Project CSX, while its sub-brand, Nubia is also hosting an event which might indicate another launch. However, we could see a sneak peek of the LG V20 at IFA. There will also be a power button on the camera module to turn it on and off. With Lenovo sent to attend the IFA 2016 event, the Chinese tech giant is expected to come in with a camera module to add to the Moto Insta-Share protector, Incipio offGRID Power Pack and JBL SoundBoost speaker we already know of. Based on mirror.co.uk’s report, the Huawei Mate 9 is 5.9 inch in size. If the recently rumored Sony smartphone is indeed the Sony Xperia X2, it is expected that the device will come with 3 GB RAM, 21 MP/12 MP camera combo, and a 1080p screen. That doesn’t mean Samsung won’t have anything to show at IFA, but it likely won’t have any phones on the docket. The ZenPad, on the other hand, is one of the most powerful tablets to have released this year.

Samsung is also expected to launch curved monitors at IFA that will come with quantum dot (QD) technology, ideal for the gamers out there. IFA 2016 is likely to showcase HDR TVs and 4K Blu-ray players.
