On Wednesday, the streaming site Netflix released a teaser trailer announcing it has given the green light for the surprising summer hit.

The first season of Stranger Things saw a young boy disappear in a small town in Indiana.
Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Cara Buono, Charlie Heaton, and Matthew Modine.
They also view the new season as more of a sequel to the first one – despite the flack that sequels tend to get. “We leave that up in the air”, he added.
Matt Duffer also revealed that season two will “venture a little bit outside of Hawkins” as well as exploring more of The Upside Down.
“Stranger Things” will return in 2017 and will once again be helmed by creators and brothers Matt and Ross Duffer. “We want it to feel a little bit different, a little bit darker”.
The video plays the show’s eerie theme, over what appears to be the season 2 episode titles: “MadMax”, “The Boy Who Came Back to Life”, “The Pumpkin Patch”, “The Palace”, “The Storm”, “The Pollywog”, “The Secret Cabin”, “The Brain,” and “The Lost Brother”. “It’s open-ended in a way that if people wanted it, and Netflix wanted it, we could explore it and continue the story line”. No casting has been confirmed, but the show is expected to follow numerous same leads from season 1.
“There’s going to be a lot of new and interesting dynamics that we didn’t see in season 1”, Matt Duffer said. “I will say the opening scene [of the premiere] does not take place in Hawkins”, he said.

Like any good show, the eight episodes of season one left us hanging, giving us way too much rope to work with when it comes to fan theories.
