Hillary, DNC raked in $143M in July fundraising

Clinton has a 4.9-point lead over Trump, 46.8 percent to 41.9 percent, the RealClearPolitics average of polls showed.

Since launching her second presidential bid, the former secretary of state has raised $413 million in all for her campaign. “These resources will help us to register and turnout millions of voters to elect progressive candidates across the country”. The total, to be shared with other Democratic groups, breaks a record set in 2008, when the Obama campaign raised a comparatively meager $66 million. Tim Kaine, each headlined more than 30 fundraisers in August – ranging from an evening gathering this week at Jimmy Buffett’s home at which Paul McCartney performed to a Silicon Valley event last week, co-hosted by Apple CEO Tim Cook. Those donating $200 or less made up almost 40 percent of her campaign’s $62 million haul in July.

CNN reported Clinton was able to raise such large sums, because of The Hillary Victory Fund, a joint fundraising account that “allows the Democratic ticket to raise money for her campaign, the Democratic National Committee and Democratic state parties at the same time”. Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway said Bossie will be assisting her with day-to-day operations and strategic planning, and will also put together attacks against Hillary Clinton.

Clinton’s month was anchored by two three-day swings – one through California and another through NY. On Labor Day, she is scheduled to return to the trail in Ohio.

Clinton leads in every recent Virginia poll, but her lead dropped in the most recent survey by Hampton University.

Clinton visited the following states on the fundraising trial this month: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania, as well as the District of Columbia. A total of 2.3 million people have donated to the Clinton campaign, which raised $143 million during the final month of the summer, according to a statement from the candidate’s campaign.
