A recent South Florida Sun Sentinel / Florida Atlantic University poll showed Wasserman Schultz beating Canova by 10 percentage points, but Canova has said he’d hoped to capitalize on lingering anger over Wasserman Schultz’s involvement in a series of mishaps at the DNC.

“I made the miscalculation of taking Mr. Rubio at his word that he wouldn’t seek re-election if he lost the presidential primary”, Beruff wrote.
Former DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz successfully fended off a primary challenge from Tim Canova, winning her primary by a 14-point margin.
Rubio beat millionaire developer Carlos Beruff, the only major GOP candidate to stay in the race after Rubio chose to run for re-election two days before the deadline to make the ballot.
Canova, who did not receive much direct support from Sanders, hinted at a possible concession as soon as the polls closed, telling supporters: “No matter what happens, we should all be proud of what we’ve accomplished in a short period of time”.

He also says “it is imperative that Republicans maintain our majorities in Congress” and “have a say over the next president’s appointments to the Supreme Court”.
U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz will soon learn whether the controversy surrounding her resignation as the Democratic National Committee chairwoman will cost her a seventh term in Congress. He’ll have to do that to win if Trump loses Florida.
On the Democratic side of the Senate primary, two sitting congressmen filled out the top two in a primary of four candidates.
Rubio beat his closest challenger, businessman Carlos Beruff, with 72% of the vote, carrying every county in Florida.
Dozens of other sitting lawmakers also face primary challenges.

Arizona uses an open primary system, meaning independents, who may lean toward a more moderate candidate like McCain, will be permitted to vote in his race. But later in the debate, Canova said he agreed with Wasserman Schultz that the emails weren’t an issue most important to voters.
