Nina Dobrev accepted her Teen Choice Award yesterday with a biting speech. In addition, “The Vampire Diaries” won for Choice TV Show: Sci-Fi/Fantasy.

Lightening the mood, Dobrev began her speech with a pair of Halloween vampire fangs in her mouth, but soon removed them when they prevented her from speaking clearly. After a couple seconds, the 26-year-old took out the prop. “That’s right, I don’t need these anymore”, she joked.

Nina Dobrev’s speech at the Teen Choice Awards wasn’t just for a good conversation though.

While the winners have been riding home on their surfboards, we have picked up the best moments from the Teen Choice Awards 2015 for those who missed watching it. She said, “The last few months have been a really big change for me”. “Change. It’s a scary word or at least, I used to think that, because it meant new beginnings”. But change is necessary.

Change comes because that is life, people grow up and they learn new things. “As this chapter in my life comes to an end, I look back at it with a grateful heart and I smile”. As with her character, Dobrev has grown up from a young lady into a woman over the course of the last six years. She accidentally yelled, “Are you f-king kidding me!” They changed my life with this role-sorry, three, four roles. She specifically gave focus to the fact that Nina Dobrev has departed from the show and also talked about the future of Damon and Stefan. She exited the series with her character Elena in a magic-induced slumber, allowing Dobrev to move on to new roles.

Nina and Ian were up against some steep competition – Candice Accola with Paul Wesley (The Vampire Diaries), Jennifer Morrison with Colin O’Donoghue (Once Upon A Time), Candice Patton with Grant Gustin (The Flash), Emily Bett Rickards with Stephen Amell (Arrow) and Gina Rodriguez with Justin Baldoni (Jane The Virgin) – but Delena fans proved their a force to be reckoned with.

However, Dries wanted to reassure her audience that the show will continue despite the loss of such a major character, and fans shouldn’t be anxious about the future of the production.
