The Columbus Dispatch reports Governor Robert Bentley is expected to announce the endorsement today.

“I don’t read a Bible to figure out what I think”, the Ohio governor said during a Sunday appearance on CNN’s State of the Union. A survey by the Boston Herald after the August 6 GOP presidential debate in Cleveland put him in third, just one point out of second.
The article goes on to say the endorsement is significant because Bentley is only the fourth sitting Republican governor to offer an endorsement for the 2016 presidential race.
Kasich is staking his campaign on winning the New Hampshire primary.
Like several Republican candidates, Kasich is against abortion except for cases of rape, incest and to save a mother’s life.
Nichols joins Scott Milburn, who is on a 60-day leave from his job as the communications director for the Kasich administration, and Chris Schrimpf, who was the lead communications person for the Ohio Republican Party. “He’s amusing. He’s quick”.
“I think ISIS has risen, frankly, because there’s been nobody over there to stop them”, he said.
Later on Monday, Kasich will hit the road for a campaign swing through the critical early carve-out states of South Carolina, Iowa and New Hampshire.
Still, Bentley’s endorsement of Kasich will come despite differences in their approach to the Affordable Care Act, the Wall Street Journal notes.
