Galaxy Note 7 Delayed in Korea Over Exploding Batteries

The company’s stock is falling rapidly, so it’ll possibly issue an official statement on the matter very soon.

In any case we guess we’ll just have to wait and see, but if you were thinking of getting the Galaxy Note 7, maybe hold off on buying one just yet until this issue has been resolved.

It could be storm in a teacup, Samsung’s own minor bendgate, but the reports of a few Galaxy Note 7 phones exploding seems to have put a kibosh on the United Kingdom release. The Galaxy Note 7 started shipping in the USA on August 19.

According to South Korean media outlet Chosun Ilbo, Samsung had originally planned to exchange the Galaxy Note7 batteries of customers free of charge. Both devices have some fantastic cameras and received a lot of praise in this department but it’s time to see just how Samsung has moved forward in the past year especially in terms of hardware.

Samsung did not comment on what problem it was trying to address or whether other markets were affected besides South Korea.

“Be careful out there, everyone rocking the new Note 7, might catch fire y’all”, one user said in a YouTube clip showing a burnt Note phone.

That post came after images of a separate burned Note 7 hit the online community Ppomppu last week.

In light of reports of exploding phones, the South Korean tech giant has announced that it will investigate the batteries and cease shipment for the forseeable future. You can really see that Samsung has gone a long way since past year and there’s a reason why people are praising the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge for being the finest flagship thus far. It’s been reported today that a Note 7 recall may be forthcoming, possibly happening within the next week to address reports of the phone exploding while charging.
