In Albuquerque, New Mexico, police have arrested and charged three people in connection with the drugging, dismemberment, and murder of 10-year-old Victoria Martens.

Authorities took 31-year-old Jessica Kelley to Albuquerque’s Metropolitan Detention Center Friday following her hospitalization for unspecified reasons.

When police arrived at the apartment, they found a third suspect, the alleged “crazed relative” that had purportedly beaten Victoria Martens’ mom and her boyfriend.

Martens confessed that Gonzales had drugged the girl so that he could have s*x with her. On the day the girl was going to celebrate h.

Authorities say Victoria was injected with methamphetamine, raped and strangled before her dismembered body was found in a bathtub Wednesday, on what was her 10th birthday. On the day the girl was goin. But officials acknowledged Friday that the man accused of injecting her with methamphetamine before raping her was not being monitored by probation officers or tested for drugs as mandated by a judge past year.

Her 31-year-old boyfriend, Fabian Gonzales, also was ordered held on $1 million bond. A judge sentenced him to two years of probation under state supervision. The city of Albuquerque is holding a memorial that is being billed as a birthday party for Victoria on Sunday. In a statement, the district says school officials were having hard time wrapping their heads around a case that even has drawn a strong reaction from New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez. The girl’s mother said that Gonzales choked her daughter after he had sex with her.

“We have a litany of little angels who are crying at us from the grave”, said Allen Sanchez, executive director of the New Mexico Conference of Catholic Bishops. The girl’s mother said nothing as she taken from the police station to a police cruiser and driven away.

Kelley, 31, along with Fabian Gonzales, 31, and Michelle Martens, have been charged with child abuse resulting in death and other crimes in the horrific rape and killing of 10-year-old Victoria Martens. He told reporters after his arrest that he didn’t have a role in Victoria Martens’ death. Gonzales and Kelley also face charges of criminal sexual penetration of a minor.

She was stabbed and strangled to death. But they wanted to express their thanks for the efforts of the first responders, government officials who have offered resources to investigate and prosecute the case and the countless community members who have offered their prayers.

“Children have few rights and no one to speak for them”, Bobbs said. Law enforcement alleges that while her mother looked on and did nothing to protect her, Victoria Martens was forcibly injected with methamphetamine to “calm her down” so that the pair could sexually assault the child. “Parents, communities and governments need to put our children first because they are our future”.

The paper described Martens as the child’s mother and Gonzales as the mother’s boyfriend.

Those stories made national headlines, but Victoria’s slaying is drawing deeper condemnation.

New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez said it was more troubling than all crimes she handled during a 25-year career as a state prosecutor before her election to the state’s top post in 2010.

Another vigil for murdered 10-year-old Victoria Martens was held by Mayor Richard Berry, reports KRQE During the media-friendly event, he offered his condolences to the community, expressed his outrage at the awful crime (which is being called one of the worst in the history of Albuquerque) and reminded locals to contact authorities if they suspect child abuse is taking place.
