Next up is the Alienware 15 with Windows 10, which comes with graphics options from AMD and NVIDIA, including the VR-ready NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060.
“Gaming is in a time of renaissance right now; awesome games and development, fantastic resolutions and technology, plus the pure excitement around VR experiences – it’s an incredible driving force”, said Frank Azor, general manager of Alienware and XPS, Dell.
Along with the new Alienware laptops, Dell today highlighted the new Alienware Graphics Amplifier, a plug-in companion to Alienware notebooks.
Here’s what we know about the new Alienware 15 and 17 laptops, which should both be available later this month.
To handle the heat that desktop-class hardware generates, the notebook chassis has been reengineered with magnesium, aluminum and copper for lightness, strength and for avoiding a literal meltdown. The company stated that adding copper to the thermal solution improves cooling capabilities across both CPU and GPU; combined with the new hinge-forward design, notebook ventilation can increase performance as most thermal dissipation flows up and out the rear.
High-performance PC gaming systems manufacturer Alienware has announced a new series of notebooks. The Alienware 17 notebook has overclocked Intel Core i7 K series processors and DDR4 memory at up to 2667 MHz.
Available in only 17-inch models as part of its new “wake on gaze” feature, the laptops have been fitted with an impressive eye-tracking technology made by Tobii – a Swedish tech company that specialises in sensor technology that tracks eye movements.
A new option is Tobii eye-tracking, which allows you do to things like wake the laptop from sleep by looking at it, lock the laptop when you walk away, and control some in-game features with your gaze, such as replaying your gaze pattern when you get killed – so you can see if you were looking the wrong way at a crucial moment.
This system also enables the computer to power down or dim its lights when the user looks up or away from the screen. The machine has a 15.6-inch FHD IPS anti-glare 300-nit display and an optional display has 120Hz refresh. The Alienware 13 will launch in November.
