Tom Brady will reportedly start Patriots’ final preseason game

According to CSNNE.com’s Tom E. Curran, Brady traveled with the Patriots to NY. Starters will likely play little, if at all, but it will be an important night for “bubble” players trying to earn one of the final few spots on the 53-man roster.

In somewhat of a surprise move, the Patriots played Tom Brady for the entire first half.

It makes sense Belichick will not risk injury to Garoppolo just 10 days before the September 11 regular-season opener against the Cardinals in Arizona, though he certainly could use the extra work.

Suspended QB Tom Brady completed 16-of-26 passes for 166 yards, a touchdown, and an interception in the Patriots’ preseason finale. S Andrew Adams, who had two passes defensed and an interception last week against the Jets, forced a fumble that DT Montori Hughes recovered.

Brady later hit Chris Hogan for 16 yards and Julian Edelman for 11 in moving the Patriots from their 6 to the 44 before punting. He later intercepted a slant from Brady. And explaining why Brady played the entire. Brady threw for 387 yards and two touchdowns, but he also tossed two costly interceptions. WR Tavarres King had four receptions for 80 yards, including a 59-yard touchdown on the opening drive of the second half. Nassib connected with King on a slant route over the middle.

One of the backs that McAdoo spoke about was rookie and fifth round selection Paul Perkins. The Patriots went for two but did not convert.

This is another hard choice for the Giants, as Montori Hughes and Louis Nix have played well as well. Brett Jones got the start at center in place of Richburg.

“It was a good opportunity to get out there and play, just to get out and feel some game action”. He took a sack and scrambled twice for nine yards.

The Giants enter the regular season with major questions on the offensive line. Cruz played in his first game in 685 days last week.

Meanwhile, Andre Williams didn’t get an offensive snap until the third quarter.

While DeMarco Murray got the night off, Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry ran for 62 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries in Tennessee’s 21-10 win over the Miami Dolphins. Barring a last-minute acquisition, Bullock will be the Giants’ kicker in Week 1 while Josh Brown serves his suspension.

Linebackers Jasper Brinkley (“nicked up”), Jonathan Casillas (ribs) and B.J. Goodson (concussion) sat out, as did DB Leon Hall (concussion) and safety Darian Thompson (shoulder). That game started just minutes before San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick again made a decision to protest the national anthem before the Niners played in San Diego.
