Pep Guardiola won’t guarantee Man City’s Joe Hart bench role

Pep Guardiola has revealed that Manchester City will do everything possible to help Joe Hart find a new club.

“I’m very proud to be joining Manchester City”. “It’s enough. I’m so happy with the squad and the team”.

There are, however, bound to be departures with Joe Hart, Samir Nasri, Wilfried Bony and Eliaquim Mangala all heading for the exit.

The Italian has torn ligaments in his elbow, which has left England Under-21 worldwide Jordan Pickford in line to make just his third Premier League appearance in the game against Southampton this weekend.

Guardiola said: “Txiki said we spoke with Joe and spoke about that, we want the best for him”.

“I can not deny this was special for me”, he said.

“I don’t know. They can express what they feel”, the manager said.

Guardiola said of Bravo: “He’s fit but he’s not going to play this weekend”.

It is therefore likely Caballero will play, even though England worldwide Hart returned for Wednesday’s Champions League play-off victory over Steaua Bucharest.

Although Claudio Bravo will be installed as City’s No.1, he will not play against West Ham tomorrow, with Willy Caballero starting and Hart set to be on the bench.

However, Guardiola confirmed Hart and Willy Caballero – who has replaced Hart as City’s starting goalkeeper – will be fighting to be the club’s backup to Bravo. We’re going to speak about the situation in the last days.

Bravo hopes to add to his trophy collection with City and admitted the chance to play for Guardiola was too good to turn down.

“I can not deny this was special for me”, said Guardiola.

“I was lucky to have under my command Chilean players like Alexis Sanchez (at Barca) and Arturo Vidal (at Bayern Muncih) before, and now Claudio Bravo”.

“You’ve got Simon (Mignolet) there and the goalkeeper they brought in who is injured but I’ve always rated Joe – I think he is an outstanding keeper”.

Torino finished 12th in last season’s Serie A. It has happened this year and if I continue to train in the high level and we arrive in the Champions League, it is going to happen more times.

City are willing to fork out up to £90,000 of the 29-year-old’s weekly earnings if another club puts up their hand to offer him an escape route on loan.
