IFA 2016: What To Expect

Samsung head of home appliances, Mike Lilly said: “2016 has marked a significant stage for our appliances offering in Australia”.

LG also joined the smart home trend with a range of Smart ThinQ home automation devices including a Hub to respond to your requests and show information like the weather, and button-shaped sensors that could be programmed to send an alert when your washing machine had finished, when a door had been opened, or when smoke was detected in your home.

“AddWash launched in Australia earlier this year and has been exceptionally well received by consumers”.

Samsung’s smart fridges will be available in Australia in a month. There are also concept devices that are as stunning as they are unobtainable at this moment in time. It can serve as the family’s interactive white board for notes, photos, shared calendars and artwork. Samsung is partnering with a range of European online grocery shopping portals including premium Italian food provider, Eataly, to other European food delivery services such as Supermercato24 and Switzerland’s coop@home.

An established name in the markets of technology, Acer showed off a number of laptops during their event. “The appliances on display at IFA represent Samsung at its best and offer a window into the incredible technologies that South Africa can expect to experience in the near future”.
