Cars stolen from residential Dublin areas seized in Meath and Wicklow

Operation Thor has been targeting a gang stealing cars from outside people’s homes across Dublin and yesterday made a significant breakthrough.

A man in his 50s was arrested after vehicle parts were found after the search of a auto on the N11 in Wexford yesterday afternoon.

The Volkswagen was partially dismantled.

Gardaí had searched a house yesterday in Rassilagh, Oldcastle, Co.

Gardaí have recovered some items, including two cars and a boat, thought to have been stolen in burglaries in the Midlands.

One man is his 50’s was arrested and is now detained at Tallaght Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 – Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.

In a follow-up search in the Summerhill area of Co. A number of private houses have also been searched.

Three more cars – Audi A5, an Audi A1 and a Hyundai Tuscan – were confiscated during a search of a property in Wicklow.

All are believed to have been stolen in earlier residential burglaries.
