Presidential, Senate races tighten in state
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton raised a whopping $143 million last month for her campaign and the Democratic Party, surging to her strongest performance of the 2016 election.

The Rasmussen Reports poll released Thursday has Trump at 40 percent to Clinton’s 39 percent.
The third-party candidates are also making dents in the polls, with Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson at 7 percent and Green Party nominee Jill Stein at 3 percent.
Here is a quick update, starting with the most positive news for Trump and ending with surveys in two states that show him still behind but closing.
Though Clinton has had a national lead in almost all recent polls, the RealClearPolitics average of polls shows how the race has tightened recently.
Now before you get too excited, know that the Real Clear Politics average of polls still shows Hillary up 4.9 percent.
The poll of 1,020 adults was conducted August 24-28 with a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points. The average uses results among registered voters where available. Trump now has the backing of 71% of Republicans, down from 76% a week ago.
Some have suggested that Trump has hidden support among voters who are unwilling to say publicly where they stand because they’re fearful of criticism.
Mr. Trump has managed to move the needle in his favor when it comes to voters in Southeastern Pennsylvania and women.
Fourteen percent did not have an opinion of Ryan in the poll of voters conducted August 25-28.
Some 38 percent of registered voters had a favorable impression of Clinton, while 59 percent were unfavorable, compared to 37 percent favorable and 60 percent unfavorable for Trump. “I think that’s pretty important”.
The latest chapter in Hillary Clinton’s enduring e-mail scandal hasn’t blunted the momentum of the Clinton Money Machine.
The ad buy comes weeks after Clinton’s campaign chose to expand their political and organizing operations into Arizona, telling state Democratic leaders that they planned to invest six figures in a ground operation in the state.
In the Senate race, Mr. Madonna credits Ms. McGinty’s lead among likely voters to the lead Ms. Clinton has established in the state.
