So far, 2016 has no doubt been a tumultuous year, following events like the attacks in Paris, mass shootings in the USA and the ongoing war in Syria, just to name a few.

The four members of Black Eyed Peas – will.i.am, Fergie, apl.de.ap and Taboo – tweeted about the release of the song, with Fergie urging her fans to “Spread LOVE.”
Earlier this week, will.i.am and his fellow band members released a video explaining why they chose to re-issue the song. The remix and remake of the song featured over 60 celebrities in the music video. “I remember when the attacks in Paris happened”.
A statement says the song and accompanying video scheduled for release Wednesday “calls for calm, asking citizens of the world to stop the hate and violence that has resulted in many lives lost”.

The band has remade the song in response to the numerous terror attacks on 2016, the ongoing crisis in Syria, the Philando Castile and Alton Sterling deaths, and the ambush killings of five police officer in Dallas. Other familiar faces who make an appearance include Lance Bass, Mary J. Blige, Connie Britton, Diddy, Snoop Dogg, Jamie Foxx, Vanessa Hudgens, Jessie J, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Randy Jackson, Kendall Jenner, Quincy Jones, Tori Kelly, DJ Khaled, Wiz Khalifa, French Montana, LL Cool J, Omarion, A$AP Rocky, Nicole Scherzinger, Jaden Smith, Usher, Wilmer Valderrama, Shailene Woodley and more. Everyone was calling on us like, “We need that song’!” In the meantime, a website by the name of www.whereisthelove.com has also been set up to encourage fans to donate to charities working on the events that inspired the remake.
