Benfica Set To Pocket Payment From David Luiz’s Chelsea Return
Chelsea agreed terms with Paris Saint Germain to re-sign Brazil defender David Luiz, while Manchester City allowed four players to leave on season-long loan deals as the transfer deadline approached across Europe.

Luiz, 29, has signed a three-year contract at Stamford Bridge and declared: “I’m delighted to return”.
“I knew of Chelsea’s interest a couple of weeks ago so I’ve watched the first few games and the team is winning, and winning well”.
“It will be an unbelievable opportunity to show to the fans again how I love this club and how I love to play for this club”. He’s also injured. Far from signing David Luiz to play a new system, it seems very much like he has simply been bought because nothing else better was really available.
Dressed in a white T-shirt and black jeans while listening to music on his headphones, Luiz stopped for selfies with fans as he strolled through the station.
Luiz came from a club, Paris St-Germain, who were not trying to squeeze every last penny out of the deal and with whom Chelsea had experience of dealing with in the past.
“He has the raw materials and the chance to spend a year, maybe two, training and playing alongside Terry would have benefited him and Chelsea greatly”.
He vowed not to celebrate if he scored against his former club, but did so as PSG advanced on away goals at the expense of Chelsea in March 2015.
Ahead of the double signing of Alonso and Luiz, Chelsea had faced a lot of frustration in their chase for a new defender and the Premier League giants were believed to have failed with multiple bids for top target Kalidou Koulibaly.

Left back Marcos Alonso takes the vacant no.3 shirt, a most traditional choice for left backs, though one that’s stood empty since Ashley Cole left in 2014 Filipe Luis left (sorry for forgetting about you, Filipe!).
