And that was just with his first few steps out of jail.

Former Stanford State University student Brock Turner, who sexually assaulted an unconscious woman, sparking an outcry across the United States, has been released from prison.

Brock Turner leaves the Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose, Calif., on Friday, Sept. 2, 2016.

Carrying a suit jacket and paper bag with his belongings, Turner walked silently from the jail and into a white SUV that sped away. He plans to head to his native OH to live with his parents. He’ll have to report to a probation officer for three years, and must avoid alcohol and drugs during that time. He can not live near schools, parks and other places where children congregate. “But we came forward and we’re here today to make sure that your voice, along with all the other women that have been assaulted from a sex crime, are heard”, she said. He was sent off with a bundle of the mail. She said he was held in “protective custody” during his incarceration but his time in jail was uneventful and her department didnt receive any credible or serious threats.

The crowd waved signs and chanted, “Hey, hey, ho, ho, Judge Persky has got to go, ” before listening to womens advocates, rape survivors and a lineup of politicians, including state Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de León, D-Los Angeles, Assemblywoman Nora Campos, D-San Jose, Sen.

“As the sheriff of Santa Clara County and a mother, I believe that the interests of justice are best served by ensuring that sexual predators are sent to prison as punishment for their crime”, she said in the letter. The bill, carried by three Bay Area lawmakers, awaits the signature of Gov. Jerry Brown would allow earlier parole for thousands of California inmates to control overcrowding in state prisons and rein in costs.

Turner’s case, and the gripping testimonial his victim read in court and later published online, drew national attention to the disparity.

Turner, 21, was convicted in March of sexually assaulting an unconscious woman in January 2015 outside a Stanford fraternity house. Supporters of the campaign to recall Judge Aaron Persky have said they will hold a rally later Friday.

The woman who was sexually assaulted by Brock Turner nearly didn’t go out the night of the rape.

“People say we can’t go back and retry Turner and that’s true, but we can still prevent future instances like this and show other judges that giving lenient rulings isn’t OK by recalling the judge”, Xu said.

“Justice was not served”, Molly Hardin said.

Turner was convicted of sexually assaulting a woman and was sentenced to six months in jail, sparking calls for tougher sentencing requirements. She was still in denial of her assault until the issue made news and she read the article about how she was spotted by two Swedish graduate students with an aroused Turner gyrating her naked body from the waist down, with her dress pulled over her shoulders. They say Turner’s ability to hire an experienced criminal attorney set him apart from many defendants who rely on overworked public defenders.

Typical requirements for Tier III offenders include registering their address and personal information with law enforcement every 90 days for the rest of their lives.

“If it succeeds, then judges will be looking over their shoulders before making any sentencing decisions, for fear of being targeted by someone who doesn’t like their rulings”, Cordell said.

After the judgement, people had started a campaign for Persky’s removal.
