Raonic ousted from US Open after second-round loss to Harrison
Raonic made history at Wimbledon in July by becoming the first Canadian man ever to advance to a Grand Slam singles final before losing to Andy Murray.

Harrison, a former teen standout, has never been ranked higher than 43rd in 2012.
The third was a hard one with Raonic calling a medical timeout for his wrist during another marathon set, which saw his service percentage drop to 38.
Vasek Pospisil’s U.S. Open came to an abrupt end on Wednesday afternoon.
It was no contest as he went down 6-1.
Roland Garros champion Garbine Muguruza and Wimbledon runner-up Milos Raonic crashed out of the tournament on Wednesday as the $150 million roof rolled smoothly into action for the first time.
He next faces experienced Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis for a place in the last 16.
The tennis machine that is Milos Raonic Inc. broke down Wednesday at the US Open, proving that no matter how much attention to detail, how many hours of efficient work are put in on the practice court or how painstaking the diet might be, the human body is, well, human.
He wound up with 33 unforced errors, making one in the final set of the 3½-hour match. “The first two sets, when you have a crowd behind you like that, you’re just playing on adrenaline”.
John Isner of the United States fired 38 aces to beat Belgian qualifier Steve Darcis 6-3, 6-4, 6-7 (10/12), 6-3 and next faces Edmund.
Novak Djokovic breezed into the third round at the US Open. A surprise quarterfinalist at the French Open this year, she received treatment on her right arm during the second set.
The 26-year-old Dane recovered from 0-4 down in the first set to record a seventh win in eight meetings and third in NY over the ninth-seeded Russian.
She showed a flash of frustration after letting an early break get away in the opening frame, but she won the last three games to pocket the set and sealed the win when Safarova double-faulted on match point – one of 11 breaks of serve in the contest.
And the highlight of the match was the roof closing at 3-3 in the second set. At the time, Canada’s Raonic, a year and a half older than Harrison, already had cracked the top 15. Muguruza, who did not look great in her first round win, was the third seed at the tournament.
It’s Wozniacki’s first trip to the third round at a major since Wimbledon a year ago. The top-seeded Djokovic had faced a potentially tricky matchup with Jiri Vesely, who defeated him last spring in their only meeting.
Djokovic needs no favours to go far in the slams, but he will be more than happy to take the gift of a walkover from Vesely due to inflammation in the Czech’s left arm.

2015 U.S. Open runner-up Roberta Vinci cruised into the third round for the sixth straight year. Baghdatis eliminated 32nd-seeded Benoit Paire of France 6-2, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 on Wednesday. Harrison was waiting for it and belted a forehand pass by a stiff-legged Raonic to break back for 4-all in the third set.
