Samsung delays Galaxy Note 7 shipment amid battery explosion claims
Samsung has delayed the shipments for its flagship Galaxy Note 7, following various reports of the phone exploding in South Korea and other parts of the world. The company has stated for Reuters that it received no information suggesting that the batteries supplied for the Note 7 were faulty. That said, exploding cellphone batteries can be extremely risky, and so it could be wise for Samsung to recall the Note 7 before one of these exploding batteries seriously injures someone. Samsung did not offer additional comment to USA TODAY. We will share the findings as soon as possible.

This is super bad timing for Samsung as the iPhone 7 will be unveiled in a matter of days. South Korea’s Yonhap News said five or six explosions were reported by consumers. This will be done free of charge in Samsung’s service centers. The stock closed 2 percent lower in the previous session.
Samsung launched the Note 7 on August 19 in some markets, including South Korea and the U.S. It did not say if those phones are different from the ones sold in South Korea.
Sister company Samsung SDI, the main battery supplier of these large-screen phones, said it was waiting for results of an investigation into the problem.
Furthermore, several customers have uploaded videos and images online claiming that their phones had caught on fire. The photos and accounts could not be immediately verified. No injuries have been reported.
If you’re a Galaxy Note 7 owner, you may want to keep reading about the news of exploding batteries. The company is relying on the Galaxy Note 7 to drive its sales momentum for 2016 and retain its global leadership in the smartphone market.

“Samsung will need to respond to this quickly in order to calm market jitters”, he said. Samsung has indeed traced the explosions to the battery of the device and is in talks with Verizon and other US business partners to figure out how to deal with the issue.
