Ex-Subway pitchman Jared Fogle in filing: Victim’s parents to blame
According to documents obtained by Us Weekly, Fogle filed a motion on Thursday, September 1, in the U.S. District Court in Indianapolis, arguing that his victim’s parents are to blame for her “destructive behaviors”.

Fogle, who is serving a more-than-15-year sentence for sexual abuse and child pornography charges, is also battling a civil suit filed brought by the victim’s parents. Though Fogle was ordered to pay Doe and his other victims $100,000 each as reparations, Doe sued Fogle in 2016 for an additional $150,000 in damages.
Fogle, a native of the Indianapolis area, became a well-known name after he lost weight on a Subway diet.
As of Thursday evening, the court had not ruled on Fogle’s motion. It seeks monetary damages for, among other things, personal injury and emotional distress.
Taylor pleaded guilty previous year to a dozen counts of child sexual exploitation and one count of distributing and receiving child pornography.
Fogle had employed the foundation’s director Russell Taylor to carry out the child pornography scheme.
The suit does not allege that she is one of the victims with whom Fogle had sex. The victim, identified as Jane Doe, had previously filed a compensation claim against him. Taylor pleaded guilty and is now serving a sentence of 27 years.
The lawsuit, filed by her parents, alleged that the girl was secretly videotaped in Taylors’ home while changing, showering and bathing, per the New York Daily News, and that Taylor shared the images with Fogle. He claims that that supposed neglect and the fact that her parents fought in front of her are the root causes of her emotional distress.
According to Jared Fogle and his legal team, his victim’s parents are at least partially to blame for the fact that Jared was able to victimize her.
The motion also argues her parent’s divorce impacted Jane Doe’s emotional stability.

Prosecutors who charged Fogle and Taylor previous year said Taylor used cameras hidden in the Indianapolis-area homes where he lived to secretly film 12 minors and shared some of the images with Fogle.
