“I never went to Everton”, he told L’Equipe.

“When I was younger I liked the Arsenal shirt, the stadium, and some of the players from the 1980s such as Liam Brady”. I have the chance now with Tottenham so I’m looking forward and I hope we will do well in the Premier League and in the Champions League also.

United manager Benitez said: “With Andros, I wanted to keep him because he was exactly the type of creative player that we could build the team around, but football is not always as easy as that”.

“I was only missing playing for the cup with the big ears (Champions League)”.

“It’s been the longest month of my career”, he added.

“I have the opportunity to make another step up”.

Tottenham Hotspur keeper Hugo Lloris is quite happy with the club’s signing of his compatriot Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle. “Today I’m happy and he’s happy because we will play together in the Premier League”. “I trusted my agent to do the job from start to finish”.

“Away from the pitch he’s a very quiet guy but he is amusing too! At the moment he is maybe a bit shy but that’s normal because it’s new for him”.

Sissoko, 27, shined with France at EURO 2016 and has become a target of the best European clubs out there since then.
