Danny Rose rescues a point for Tottenham

Milner beat Michel Vorm from the spot in the 43rd minute after Erik Lamela had tripped Roberto Firmino in the box, as Spurs struggled to deal with Liverpool’s firepower.

Things nearly got even better soon after the restart, Joel Matip’s flicked header clipping the crossbar and Mane’s close-range strike ruled out for offside.

However, Spurs equalised with 18 minutes remaining after England left-back Danny Rose finished from close range to rescue a point for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

“We made one mistake in and around their goal and they also had a header from Alderweireld and a wonderful save from Simon”.

“When you take a point at Tottenham, for 99 per cent of teams it would be a good thing”, he told the BBC.

Klopp’s frustrations showed on the sidelines.

“We started the game very well, but after 15 minutes we had a problem with Walker, so we tried to change our plan to play with two strikers”.

“I saw Spurs as being a very good fit for me – but we were unable to agree financial terms with them. With hindsight, though, that was not a disaster”. We had wonderful moments with passing and all that stuff, the direction in our game.

For starters, Spurs are able to show a unsafe attacking side in the opening minutes of the game but over time, they start to fade.

Liverpool were unlucky to have not gotten all three points against Tottenham.

Liverpool’s James Milner, right, celebrates with his teammate Sadio Mane after scoring a penalty during the English Premier League soccer match between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool at White Hart Lane in London, Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016.

“Pochettino was terrific but then Jurgen Klopp made me feel even more relaxed”, he said. His record shows that when he stays fit and plays regularly, he scores goals.

Despite needing goals, Klopp only brought Daniel Sturridge on with three minutes left. We were really flexible in offensive defending and then played football. “We didn’t do enough in the second half so it was probably a fair result in the end”.

The England worldwide fired home to cancel out James Milner’s first-half penalty and make it three draws in the last three meetings between the sides.

“We will work on it but we are convinced he can play there, that’s why we haven’t signed another player in this position”. They had a hard start at Everton, dug in and got the draw.
