Latino Trump Surrogate Warns Of Future With ‘Taco Trucks On Every Corner’

According to Marco Gutierrez, founder of “Latinos for Trump”, if Donald Trump loses the election America will see “taco trucks on every corner”.

But many don’t seem to believe a taco truck on every corner would be an issue. #TacoTrucksOnEveryCorner was trending on Twitter Thursday night and NPR named it the #MemeOfTheWeek.

In his almost 17-minute video, Gutierrezsays Trump’s immigration policies are essentially meant to get a head count of who is here and what they’ve done for the country. And yet that’s exactly what Marco Gutierrez, founder of Latinos for Trump, did in an interview on MSNBC.

The comment comes a day after Donald Trump returned to his hard-line stance against immigration into the country, when he vowed in his speech to begin mass deportations his “first hour” in office if elected. Let’s split the difference and say that, to start, we’re going to need two entrepreneur-chefs per truck for a total of about 1.15 million people to get this program off the ground. To avoid having a Master of None-style meltdown on it, though, restrict yourself to one list of The 16 Best Taco Trucks in Springfield.

Several tweets playfully bashed Gutierrez for suggesting that being invaded by taco trucks would be anything less than idyllic. So I took a walk to the long line of food trucks about a block from NPR headquarters in D.C. There was a fried chicken truck, an Afghan cuisine truck, and then a Mexican-Korean taco truck. But in a weird way, Gutierrez’s warning was an insightful comment on America’s immigration politics. After right-wing firebrand Ann Coulter warned the California delegation to the Republican National Convention that because of immigration “the country is slipping away from us so fast”, Gutierrez, who was present as a delegation guest, told reporters that she was spot on.

Mr Gutierrez retweeted supporters who advised him to “ignore the trolls” and who accused the United States media of twisting his words. Adriano Espaillat said, “I’m offended”. During his speech in Arizona, he had strong words for undocumented immigrants, specifically those he described as criminals. “It’s our right, as a sovereign nation, to choose the immigrants that we think are the likeliest to thrive and flourish and love us”.
