Both Gear S3 models feature 1.3-inch 360×360 Super AMOLED displays, which is larger than the 1.2-inch display found on the Gear S2 watches.

Samsung on Wednesday officially launched its Gear S3 Frontier and Gear S3 Classic in Berlin ahead of the IFA 2016.
As far as the battery life is concerned, Samsung says that the new Gear S3 should last up to four days thanks to the 380mAh battery capacity installed, up from the S2’s 250mAh.
Taking a closer look at each, the Gear S3 Classic features a polished outer case and “classic” styling.
There are two versions of the Gear S3: the Frontier, which is targeted for rugged, outdoorsy types and the Classic, which has a more professional, executive look. Both the watches are capable of supporting Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi b/g/n, NFC, MST, and Global Positioning System.

It was nearly three years ago that Samsung released the first Galaxy Gear smartwatch. The Samsung Gear S3 Frontier, according to Tech Radar, is one of the most capable and active-focused wearable till date. The smartwatch runs Tizen OS 2.3.1 and now touts more than 10,00 apps, including Spotify, Uber, Yelp, iHeartRadio and more. Only the latter comes with 4G, however, offering faster data downloads and mobile internet speeds than the Classic.
The Samsung Gear S3 has plenty of colors that light up the screen even when it is not in use, which surpasses the eight colors that the older model offered.
There are two new versions of the Gear S3, the Gear S3 Classic and Gear S3 Frontier.
There’s no word yet on when the Gear S3 models will launch or how much they’ll cost when they do.
Going back to the next Apple Watch needing to be revolutionary, we have to be practical here, because for Samsung to have all those features in their Gear S3 compromises had to be made, and that stand-out compromise is its share size – something Apple Watch lovers are not prepared to make.

And for those mad at smartwatch batteries, the Gear S3 comes with a power saving mode that basically turns the S3 in a regular watch and lasts for some 10 hours on just 5% of battery charge.
