Police Union: Officers May Boycott 49ers over Kaepernick
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick remained steadfast in his protest against what he has called injustices against minorities in America by again refusing to stand for the national anthem Thursday night during the team’s game against the San Diego Chargers.

Kaepernick’s protest is spreading, Seattle Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane also refused to stand during the anthem in a game against the Oakland Raiders Thursday.
Afterward, Kaepernick asked Boyer to join him on the sideline, where the quarterback chose to kneel instead of sit during the anthem.
It also criticized what it called anti-police statements made by Kaepernick, calling them “insulting, inaccurate and completely unsupported by any facts”.
It’s the latest in the flurry of heated responses – both negative and positive – that Kaepernick has gotten since his silent protest became the talk of the National Football League and much of the nation last week.
Meanwhile, Kaepernick said the protest is sparking important conversations about police brutality, racial inequality and other social issues he said he’s trying to spotlight with his protest.
In a thoughtful open letter posted on the Army Times website earlier this week, Boyer expressed a willingness to listen to the quarterback’s thoughts behind his protest.
“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color”, he told NFL Media on Friday.
Kaepernick invited Boyer to have a discussion with him before Thursday’s game, and the two men talked for about 90 minutes, according to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer.
Recent conversations between the 49ers quarterback and Reid continued on game night, both players said.
“I am planning to take it a step further”, he told reporters. “It’s not right that they’re not put in the position to succeed, or given the opportunities to succeed”. “I just thought, you know, it’s okay for me to do”, he said. “The media has painted this as I’m anti-American, anti- men and women of the military”.

After the preseason finale, Kaepernick announced he plans to donate the first million he earns this year to charities that help communities in need. We were wondering of a way, people said that it was disrespectful for him to sit down, so he was able to decide what if we took a knee instead of sitting?
