Browns trade Justin Gilbert to Steelers

The Cleveland Browns have agreed to a trade with Pittsburgh that will send DB Justin Gilbert to the Steelers in exchange for a 2018 sixth-round pick.

It hasn’t been a good year for Browns recent first-round picks.

It shows that the Browns felt there was virtually nothing worth trying to salvage for their nearly $13 million guaranteed investment.

It also marks a rare interdivision trade.

“Justin did some things better [in the preseason]”, Jackson said Friday during a conference call.

Quarterback Johnny Manziel, who was the Browns’ other first-round pick in 2014, was waived in March. “Everything has an opportunity to be evaluated, everything that every player’s done”. One of the biggest busts of the past five years, the No. 8 overall pick of the 2014 draft was supposedly having a solid summer before suffering a concussion. Yeah”, Jackson continued. “Are we going to sit down and evaluate and talk through every opportunity that a young man has had and we can see where they fit for our football team? Cleveland traded another first round pick, linebacker Barkevious Mingo, to the New England Patriots this week.

Gilbert, 24, is now in the concussion protocol after being injured in Tampa last week. Prior to a 2014 draft trade between the Browns and Steelers, they had not made a deal since 1968.

As little learners grow up, they need more specific supplies to get them through the school year. Gilbert often looked lost in coverage and was picked on when on the field. At times the coaches had to have him active on game days due to not having enough healthy corners, but his shortage of playing time was accountable not so much to injuries or poor practice as to his habits.
