Owen Smith appears to call Jeremy Corbyn a ‘lunatic’

It can be recalled that labour leader Jeremy Corbyn had tried to commute from London to Newcastle earlier in August but had seemingly met an overcrowded train, a situation which led to the release of a film depicting the politician sitting on the floor of the train.

But her deputy, Alex Rowley, has previously criticised Labour MPs for attempting to “launch a coup” against Mr Corbyn.

She said: “Whilst the Labour party continues to tear itself apart with its ongoing leadership election, the Conservatives are getting on with running the country and ensuring that we follow through with the nation’s decision and making a success of the fantastic new opportunities it presents”.

Article 50 gives United Kingdom and the European Union two years to negotiate the terms of the split, with any extension having to be agreed by all 28 European Union members.

In his statement, Draper, whose union has almost 20,000 members, said he had received an email from the party on Tuesday saying he was suspended.

Speaking at the latest leadership hustings in Glasgow on Thursday night, Labour leadership challenger Mr Smith said: “I’ve never had any part in splitting the Labour Party”.

He said: “48% of the people didn’t vote to leave (the EU), now if we can secure 48% for a general election, we will be laughing”. A challenge in the British law courts is now deciding whether Parliament should have a say before Article 50 is triggered.

Addressing an audience at University College Hospital in London, Corbyn said: “Privatization and outsourcing don’t just erode the founding principles of the NHS, they’re actually a bad waste of resources”.

“Let’s be clear about this and exactly what’s going on here”.

But Virgin Media said it was “puzzled” by the suggestion Mr Corbyn was unable to find unreserved seats when he boarded the train because CCTV images appeared to show “they’re right next to him”. “I was talking about me”. Eventually seats were found.

Virgin Trains then waded into the whole thing to burst Corbyn’s bubble on the “over-crowded” train thing.

Corbyn has announced the re-nationalization of railways in Britain if he becomes prime minister.

However, Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson hit back at Corbyn, tweeting an image of Corbyn walking past empty seats on the day in question.

He again insisted Wednesday’s press conference was about the NHS.

Mr Corbyn will pledge a future Labour government would defend the BBC licence fee and promise to it a legal requirement for all councils to deliver a “a comprehensive and efficient library service”.
