The news came via a tweet from the official Nintendo of America Twitter account, which included a video of President of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime showing off the new unit. It’s officially called the New Galaxy Style New Nintendo 3DS XL, a name which will become particularly fun once stores like GameStop need to designate as being a new or used version.
Basically, this new Nintendo 3DS XL console (as far as we know) isn’t a hardware refresh, but it does have a snazzy galaxy-esque faceplate.

If you aren’t a fan of gazing at the stars, the solid red and black options are still available, as well as those spiffy Monster Hunter Generations and Super Mario 3D Land editions. “The “New Galaxy Style” New Nintendo 3DS XL is available at a suggested retail price of $199.99″.
